Guide to Oxford, England
Oxford is a city of over 115,000 inhabitants with a large influx of tourists all year round especially in summer, bathed by the River Thames as London is a city of atmospheres which always leaves the visitor with a pleasant memory.
It’s not just a college town, but also, for example, the home of the famous manufacturer of the Mini, Morris.

The University of Oxford, the oldest in Britain, it then traces its founding to the 1167. Many of the ceremonies of the various colleges are centuries old, such as the graduation ceremony of the Sheldonian that still takes place in Latin.
The colleges are open all year round but their hours vary, many are closed in the morning. Among them ricodiamo St Merton’s most famous city, whose main entrance was built by Christopher Wren in 1680, and the Magdalene probably the richest of all.
Do not miss the Ashmolean Museum, the oldest in Europe and most prestigious of the city, with impressive collections including Raphael and Michelangelo, as well as oriental collections.

For fun you can go to Po Na Na a bar that makes the wee hours, or to ‘Oxford Playhouse with a mix of live music and not, or even to the Burton Taylor Theatre with a program that rivals London. Oxford is a city where gay and carefree fun peacefully, without, it must be said, the urban chaos of London.
Do not miss a visit to Blackwell’s enormous library with over 20.000 titles where you can buy a coffee at the bar savoring the comings and goings of students looking for books for their weekly essay.
