Our Self-Service lets you book reservations for many European trains. You will get these reservations as e-tickets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I log in to the Reservation Service?
  • We might be having issues with the login of our Reservation Service at the time you log in. 
  • We will aways apologise for any inconvenience found. Please log in again in 5 minutes time.
  • Always try to log in with the same email address you used to purchase your Eurail Pass.
If you are unable to log in, please try the following work-around:
  • Remove your browser cookies and clear the cache
  • Close the browser
  • Open a new browser and go back to the Reservation Service
  • Reset your password by clicking the link "I have forgotten my password"
  • Log in to the Reservation Service
It's possible that your itinerary is no longer there after you log in. 

This means you'll need to start over. If you keep encountering issues with our Reservation Service, please make your reservations in another way.

Why can't I add a new travel companion to my Reservation Service profile?

If the traveler you are trying to add bought their Pass at www.Interrail or and has a different order number to you, then they need to register for their own Reservation Service account before you can add them to yours. They can do this by logging in to the Reservation Service using their own account.

Once your companion has logged into the Reservation Service, you can add them to your profile. When you see the question "Is your traveling companion already registered in the Reservation Portal with a currently valid pass?" click on the "Yes" option then search for their email address and order number.

You can check your and your travel companion's order numbers in the confirmation email you received when ordering your Pass. The order number starts with EU or IN.

What is the status of my Reservations order?

If your order has the status Submitted or Waiting for Shipping, this means our team is already working on your reservation. You’ll receive an email to let you know once your order has been processed. If your order contains e-tickets, they will be sent to you in a separate email.

It can take up to 5 business days for your order to process. Please keep in mind that Saturday and Sunday don’t count as business days. National holidays in Europe can also cause delays.

If your order has the status Submitted or Waiting for Shipping, this means our team is already working on your reservation. You’ll receive an email to let you know once your order has been processed. If your order contains e-tickets, they will be sent to you in a separate email.

  • If you make a reservation on a Monday, your reservation should be processed by Thursday.
  • If you make a reservation with us on a Thursday, but the following Monday is a national holiday, the weekend and the holiday could delay the processing of your reservation until Wednesday.

Why do I have to pay for seat reservations when I already have a Eurail Pass?

Your Eurail Pass gives you access to trains run by the participating railway companies. For most high-speed and all night trains, the railway companies charge optional or compulsory reservation fees. This guarantees you a seat on popular or faster routes, which may become crowded during busy periods.

As a pass holder you only need to pay the
reservation fee, not the full fare ticket. Please note that the reservation fees can differ depending on the country and type of train. We have an overview of the reservation fees.

How can we make sure the whole group is seated together?

During registration for the Reservation Service, you can add all your travel companions to your account under 'My profile'. This way, your entire group can have a single account, even if you ordered your rail passes separately and have different order numbers. Please note that only travelers who bought their Eurail Pass from www.Interrail or may make use of our Reservation Service.

For every train you request, you can indicate if you want the reservation for the whole group or just a selection. We will then make sure that everyone is seated together.

How do I make a reservation for a train that departs in less than 8 working days?

If the train you want to reserve departs within 8 business days from the date you request them, we won't be able to process the reservation in time. We have information about alternative ways to make train reservations.

We require at least 8 working days because this gives us enough time to book the trains, process the payment, and ship the tickets to you. Most reservation tickets are hard copy tickets, so we can't send them by email.

Italian and Spanish day trains and day trains between Italy and Switzerland have a booking period of 3 working days. In this case, e-tickets are sent by email.

Can I get e-tickets instead of paper tickets?

At the moment we only offer e-tickets for day trains within Italy and Spain, and between Italy and Switzerland. Italian e-tickets are attached to a confirmation email sent from the Italian railway company Trenitalia or the Spanish railway company Renfe. Please note that e-tickets are sent to you by e-mail and might end up in your spam folder.

All other train reservations are only valid if you show the hard copy tickets that were delivered to you by registered mail.

Can I speed up the delivery time?

It's not possible to ship your reservations faster than the estimated delivery date. This date is calculated by our system, based on the shipping country selected during the payment process.

If there's not enough time to have your order shipped to your home, we can deliver your reservations to your accommodation in Europe. Just make sure you enter both your name and the hotel's name in the shipping address, and let the hotel staff know you're expecting a package so they can accept it on your behalf. Someone must be available to sign for receipt of the package.

If there's no way to get your tickets delivered anywhere in time, we advise you to not finalize payment. You should make new reservations directly at a train station in Europe. It's not possible to reserve tickets with us and pick them up at a train station.

Which trains can't be reserved with the Eurail reservation service?

The Eurail reservation service can make reservations for 95% of trains in Eurail countries. Below you'll find the trains that can't be reserved through our service.
