Renfe Spain Pass

The Renfe Spain pass is a unique rail pass that allows customers to choose the number of rail journeys they want to use within a 1 month period and includes the price of seat reservations. Select between 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 journeys and travel on High Speed AVE trains, Long and Middle distance trains.

Renfe Spain Pass Features:

Choose between 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 journeys within 1 month.
Available in either Preferente (First) or Turista (Standard) Class.
Pass holders can take advantage of discounts and bonus features (see "more").
The Renfe Spain Pass is an electronic ticket.
The price of seat reservations is included.

Customers board each train journey with a valid passport. their printed Renfe Spain Pass and their printed seat reservation.

Renfe Spain Pass Eligibility:

Renfe Spain Passes are designed for sale to persons having their permanent residence outside of Spain.

Renfe Spain Pass Validity:

The Renfe Spain Pass must be validated within 6 months of the date of purchase.
The Renfe Spain Pass is valid for up to one month from the first day of use.
The Renfe Spain pass permits the holder to choose the number of journeys they will make within a one month period. A journey is a single one-way trip between a point of origin and a destination.
The pass allows you to complete your journey by commuter train ("Renfe Cercanias") provided that it connects with the point of origin or the destination of your booking.

Children between the ages of 4 and 13 pay a reduced rate.

Children Traveling in Spain

RENFE requires that children under 4 years travel with a ticket. This new rule applies to domestic trains AVE, AVANT, Alvia, Altaria, Estrella, Euromed, Talgo and TrenHotel. The new rule does not apply to international trains.

RENFE offers free tickets for children under 4 and the tickets can be obtained at RENFE points of sale. In exceptional cases the tickets can also be obtained at ´Last Minute Points´. If the station has no ´Last Minute
Point´, the ticket inspector on board will issue a free ticket for the child.

Renfe Spain Pass Conditions of use

Renfe Spain Pass Refunds:

A Renfe Spain Pass can be refunded up to 3 business days prior to the first date of use, with a 15% cancellation fee deducted from the refund. No refund can be made for any reason after the first date of use.

We advice you to take out travel insurance. This is what travel insurance covers in most cases.

Renfe Spain Pass Fees and Charges:

A seat can be reserved without extra charge. Visit Renfe's website or any train station in advance and present the pass.

Renfe Spain Pass Lost Tickets:

E-tickets and passes cannot be reissued if lost or stolen.

Present your Renfe Spain Pass at a Tourism Office in Spain to receive discount coupons for museums, restaurants, guided tours and more.
