There are one daytime and one overnight train (two in summer) from Belgrade. Trains go through Bijelo Polje, Kolašin, Podgorica and ends in Bar, Montenegro's main seaport. The railway through the Dinar ridge is considered as one of the most scenic railways in Europe. Travel by train is the cheapest way to get to Montenegro, the trip time is 10 hr from Belgrade to Podgorica (11 hr to Bar), but expect considerable delays.

Ticket from Belgrade to Podgorica costs €21, plus €3 seat reservation (not compulsory but strongly recommended in summer season) or €6 berth reservation.

Montenegro Railway Network

The Podgorica - Bar railway is the backbone of the Montenegrin railway system.
It has features such as the Mala Rijeka viaduct (highest railway viaduct in the world) and the 6.2 km (38 mi) long Sozina tunnel.
InterCity (IC) trains connect Podgorica and Bar. Local trains serve the other stations.

Montenegro How to Get There

Montenegro only has a direct rail connection with neighboring country Serbia.
In Serbia it runs from Subotica through Novi Sad and Belgrade (Topcider Station).
In Montenegro the train goes through Bijelo Polje, Kolasin, Podgorica and ends in Bar.

Montenegro's main international airport is Podgorica airport. Another international airport is close to Tivat, Montenegro's coastal city.
